MEET AMB DEC, INC.
Husband and wife team, Austin and Molly Brown, have over 28 years combined experience in the building industry having held positions in design, engineering, purchasing, project management and construction.
Through our personal partnership, construction projects, and adventurous lifestyle together, we have always relied on our compatibility to collectively select the best route toward an ultimate goal. With this in mind and given our educational and work experiences, the creation of AMB Design, Engineering and Consulting was a natural next step in our adventure together.
Throughout our lives, we have both called the High Sierras our playground and feel blessed to call Truckee, CA home. We ski, snowboard, mountain bike, backpack, swim, and paddle board in our backyard and throughout the world. Adventure, travel, physical activity and family keeps us balanced, healthy and happy.

Austin Brown, PE, President
As native of Nevada, I grew up working in the construction industry building, remodeling, and repairing homes. Passionate about the construction field I pursued a degree in Civil Engineering followed by a masters in Structural Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. I now hold professional engineering licenses in California and Nevada.
Prior to AMB, I held positions at Wood Rodgers, Dynamic Certification Laboratories, Dynamic Isolation Systems and JK Architecture Engineering where I specialized in structural engineering, earthquake engineering, and project management. Through all of my experiences, I have always felt most fulfilled when designing residential homes purposefully suited for how its owners live and play. I enjoy collaborating with property owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and local building departments with the goal of performing every project with the utmost integrity, leaving the client and all who are a part of the process pleased with the experience and outcome.
Molly Brown, VICE PresIDent
Raised in California, I decided to travel out of state for college where I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
After college I got my feet wet by working for two years as a Purchasing Agent for a Bay Area homebuilder before joining Ryder Homes in 2004 where I remained for fourteen years. Working for a small, privately-held builder for so many years as a Project Manager and Director of Purchasing, I was afforded the unique opportunity to “wear many hats”. My responsibilities spanned from plan layout and design, marketing and production budgeting, production job buy out, interior design, defining new interior specifications, to working with and managing all parties involved from design to finish construction. My greatest strength and interest is to create spaces that make the most sense for each client taking into account how they live in and use their homes. Austin and I share the same goal of intending every client in an AMB project is proud of their contribution and finished product.
